Does vegan makeup even look good?

Hey, there’s my face!  Hi face!

Thought I’d share my makeup routine with you today.  Why is it worth talking about?  Because most of my makeup is vegan!  I made the switch to all-natural, cruelty-free bathroom products slowly a couple of years ago, and the last leap I took was trying vegan makeup.  I was extremely hesitant at first because I had an unfounded assumption that vegan makeup somehow wouldn’t work as well or look as good.  So not true!  It wasn’t at all like smearing peanut butter on my face like I’d imagined.

The main thing I’d encourage you to try switching to out of everything is a chemical-free liquid foundation, because you’re rubbing that stuff into your pores on a daily basis.  As the skin is your largest organ, it’s highly important to treat it with the love and respect it deserves.  Before I made the switch, I was using CoverGirl, Maybelline, Mac… you know, name brands.  Two years later, my skin is healthier and glowing more than ever.  I do still use a Mac eyebrow pencil, but everything else is 100% vegan, 100% chemical free, and 100% devoid of parabens.  Let me break each item down for you below in case you want to try!

Liquid Foundation:  Zuzu Luxe Oil-Free Liquid Foundation –  bonus, it has SPF 18 sun protection!

Powder Foundation:  Zuzu Luxe Dual Powder Foundation  – goes on just like any other powder you’re used to.

Eyeliner:  Zuzu Luxe Liquid Eyeliner in Raven  –  easiest liquid eyeliner ever!

Mascara:  Zuzu Luxe Mascara in Onyx  –  adds amazing depth to your eyes.

And that’s it!  I’m a pretty simple makeup girl, so I don’t wear much other than the basics.  I highly recommend trying out vegan makeup some time if you can, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.  The less chemicals on your face, the better! And the less cute animals harmed in the process of creating cosmetics, the better as well.

What’s your makeup routine like?  Any products you love?  Any vegan brands I should be checking out?  Leave a comment and let me know!
